When was the last time you gave up on something you wanted?
Or when was the last time you failed, then you tried again?
Most of the successes start with a failure; most final failures are the first ones. And most of our successes are unachieved because of our non-acceptance of failure; most of our non-acceptances are because of our egos; and our ego is our biggest enemy…
Sometimes we are so afraid to fail that we don’t try… Or we don’t like the taste of failure to the extent we avoid tasting it more than once. Such fear we created in our own head. Many times we find out that the failure we went thru wasn’t as big or bad as we have imagined it…Even more, with many failures came many discoveries of ourselves, of what we wanted and what we didn’t want…
We need to change our fear of failure to fear of losing the chance to succeed… We always have choices: surrendering to our fear or turning our back to it…
The next time you fail in what you are doing, follow these 5 tips:
1-Understand what went wrong
2-Find what you can do differently
4-If you realize that you have exhausted all ways, be ready to let go and move to another goal
5-Dissociate yourself from the failure: you experienced a failure, you are NOT a failure
Thomas Edison, an American inventor, said: “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”
And Robert F. Kennedy, an American President, said: “Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly.”
Don’t give up too soon: Failing is not the end of the world; it is just the discovery of it!
