2013-03-22 – Friday Whisper – Five Minutes…

We always convince ourselves that we never have enough time to finish what we want to accomplish.

However, given as little as 5 minutes, we can accomplish small things that we keep postponing. What can you do in five minutes?

-Read 5 pages of a book, for leisure or for your career

-Clean out the garbage in your car

-Floss

-Call to set your next dentist appointment

-Relax by inhaling and exhaling slowly 5 times, with equal 5-second intervals

-Stand up and stretch

-Delete 10 old unnecessary emails, just 10.

-Memorize 2 verses of your Quran/Bible or any other Holy book you read

-Learn 5 words of a new language

-Play one piece of your favorite music instrument. Repeat it 5 times.

-Drink one glass of water

-Eat one fruit

-Draw/Paint

-Make a list of 5 things you want to finish today/this week

-Write one positive sentence about yourself

-Read the sentence you wrote (during a previous 5-minutes break) loudly, while looking at yourself in the mirror. Repeat it 5 times.

-Arrange one drawer/one shelf at home or office

-Arrange one folder in your computer

-Send an SMS to your significant other

-Check your medical cabinet for expired items

-Do a prayer

-Shine your shoes

-Take one piece of your clothes that you don’t want and put it away for charity. Just one.

-Post a message telling me how do you find these whispers 😉

Morgan Scott Peck, an American psychiatrist and author, said: “Until you value yourself, you won’t value your time. Until you value your time, you will not do anything with it.”

And Carl Sandburg, an American author, said: “Time is the coin of your life. It is the only coin you have, and only you can determine how it will be spent. Be careful lest you let other people spend it for you.”

Some things are never finished, you know why? Because they are never started!

What would you do in the next 5 minutes?
